Parts of a tree

stem - the main long thin part of a plant above the ground from which the leaves or flowers grow.

bark - the outer covering of a tree    

leaves - plural of the word leaf - a flat green part of a plant growing from a stem

branch - a part of a tree that grows out from the main stem and on which leaves, flowers and fruits grow.

twigs - a small very thin branch that grows out of a very larger branch  

root - the part of a plant that grows under the ground. It absorbs water and other minerals and then it sends to the rest of the plant

shoot - the part that grows up from the ground when a plant starts to grow
