Gulliver’s Travels

autobiographynoun - the story of a person’s life written by that person

biographynoun - the story of a person’s life written by somebody else

sailornoun – a person who sails a boat, a person who works on a ship as a member of the crew

giants noun - a very large strong person who is often cruel and stupid, an unusually large person, animal or plant

discoververb -  to be the first person to become aware that a particular place or thing exists

forefingernoun – the finger next to the thumb ( synonym – index finger )

pulled off phrasal verb -  to remove sth from a place by pulling.    He pulled off her boots.

crumbledverb – broken into pieces

strokingverb – to move hand gently and slowly over an animal’s fur or hair/any surface

apronnoun – a piece of clothing worn over the front of the body

apropos preposition - concerning or related to somebody/something
