PARTICIPLE

It is that form of the Verb which is partly a Verb and partly an Adjective.

PRESENT PARTICIPLE

A blooming flower is beautiful to look at.

A rolling stone gathers no moss.  

PAST PARTICIPLE (-d/-ed/-t/-n/-en)

Deceived by his friends, he lost hope.

Driven by hunger, he stole a piece of bread.

We saw the trees laden with fruits.

PERFECT PARTICIPLE

Having rested a while, we continued our journey.

Having been notified by the court, he appeared before the judge. 

He is fond of playing cricket. (GERUND)

Playing cricket, he spent much time.(PARTICIPLE)

The old man is tired of walking. (GERUND)

Walking along the road, the old man is tired. (PARTICIPLE)
